Apr. 3rd, 2015 02:26 pmNot particularly religious, my childhood days of candy&eggs are many moons ago, and with stores stocking the shelves with holiday merchandise about two months in advance, Easter frequently sneaks up on me. Didn't realize today is Good Friday until after the fact.
Other holidays don't do this to me. Think it's because I know they're pretty much set on a fixed date and month. Easter hops around - yes, a pun.
As a kid, never liked Easter all that much due to the old Spring Break scheduling. Get goodies and egg hunts, then have to go back to school the next day - SUCKS!!! Nowadays, I believe Spring Breaks starts with Easter - lucky kids.
In other news: Two of my miniature roses got spider mites. My usual go to solution for infected houseplants - washing leaves with soapy water - but roses are very leafy and stiff steamed. To combat the little bastards, I cut off the heavily infested parts. One rose has been reduced to a lovely bunch of green stems, which will be easy to wash now.
Somewhere down the line, I'll eventually get neem oil.
