Tangled - Almost passed on this because "Disney = too much singing & too cute/stupid sidekicks". Surprise, surprise. Disney's getting a clue and focusing on story instead of filling the screen with song&sidekicks. This was actually good.
The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel - British comedy-drama. Judi Dench and Maggie Smith didn't have many scenes together.
WALL-E and Up - Damn you Pixar for making me cry. Going to hide under the porch because I love you.
Ghost Train - Misleading title. No ghosts on the train 99% of the time. Not even really a plural, either. One creepy lady, creeping around the station platforms, hanging out in a creepy tunnel in her creepy spare time.
Bridesmaids - Second viewing. Rented for my parents. My mother wouldn't watch the full boutique bathroom scene. Didn't stop her from using Melissa McCarthy's lava comment as a joke.
Cruel Restaurant - This was the damaged dvd I bitched about last week. After a check for cracks and a bath, popped the replacement in. No subtitles, no menu for subtitles, no menu at all?? WHAT DA HELL???!!!
5 minutes of fusing later, remembered the dvd remote had a "subtitle button". 5 minutes of more fusing and learned something new later, got movie&subtitles going.
Horror-comedy + Our leading lady is in real life an AV (adult video) actress = Plays a lot like late nite Cinemax feature (dumb). This being Japanese, got gore and weird twists.
Damaged disk was a hint I should have taken. What a waste of my time.
Reindeerspotting: Escape from Santaland - Finnish documentary on a young drug user. He traveled to, I think it was four different countries, and spent most of his time wandering around and getting high.
Green Snake - Almost a great date movie. Sad ending dragged.
Viy - Monk's kind of sexy. Loved the flying coffin bit.
