Jun. 26th, 2016 08:03 pmMy wrist has had an ongoing issue with the computer's mouse. No matter what I've tried, pretty nothing makes it's usage comfortable for long periods of time. Switch from regular to ergonomic mouse helped for awhile.
Mainly use the computer for pleasure. Like to surf and read, with a whole lot of scrolling and clicking going on. Recently, wrist put it's foot down more, demanding I find an alternative (or else go carpel tunnel or whatever devious punishment it might come up with). Turns out the simple solution is sitting right here looking up at me: The keyboard.
Trying to use keys and alternating hands, in place of right handed mousing. So far seems to be working out OK. When I do mouse, trying to keep my arm up (wrist straight) and moving instead of laying down and letting wrist do most of the action.
What's the whole point of this sad tale of woe? Well, it plays a part in why I get bad about LJing. Get tried after surf&read, want out of the damn chair (maintaining posture gets old fast), taking breaks to twirling and flexing wrist around kinda wears down my patience. Throw in the other stuff about being tired overall and pudding brain...well, there you go.
Consider upgrading to Windows 10 (touch screening option, I believe, is something 10 has) but after the big song&dance hooking up the router, it being five years old and my dsl 8, worried about compatibility. Because Microsoft being sneaky and forcing/tricking people into upgrading (all too frequently without their permission or knowledge) and causing others problems, I blocked 10 completely for the last few months. Last week, did allow "Get Windows 10 app/icon" and "Non-critical Windows 10 Settings" to occur (apparently, you need that stupid "Get Windows 10 icon" to find out whether your system is compatible or not). Of course now that damn "Get 10" doesn't want to haunt me like it was before blocking.
Looking into maybe getting a tablet and use it for surf&read.
Whatever, whenever, I'll do something.
Ok, enough of this. Got to go outside and do watering.
