Nostalgia made me do it
Aug. 18th, 2019 04:21 pmWhile driving, I like to listen to the car's radio. Don't do cellphone or satellite, it's all local stations. Main one is The X. Got an interesting mix of alternative, rock, eclectic, international, local music. It's a long running (almost 30 years on the air) and popular station.
My others are:
Rock 104.5, hard rock. Also classic, new, current, etc., if it's rock, they play it.
KOZZ, classic rock. Motley Crue is now considered classic rock. I was fan, during high school, back when they came out during the 80's Hair Metal - I feel old.
NV89, alternative. Helps fill the KROQ alternative-like void left by KRZQ (turned country).
BobFM, 80's 90's & whatever.
Reno's Crazy 80's, everything 80's, not just the songs that were popular.
Easy, easy listening.
If something I'm not too keen on comes on The X, I run thru the other stations on my menu via the handy little changer button in the car's steering wheel. Last week, doing just that, land on Crazy 80's and they're playing "Lost in the Shadows (The Lost Boys)" by Lou Gramm. Haven't heard that since back when the movie came out. Got hit with the overwhelming urge to see The Lost Boys again.
Last time I saw it, was back in 1987 on the big screen and never again (why doesn't get more play on TV?). Went on Amazon later in the evening. DVD for around $10, hell yeah, I'm ordering! Had others with the sequels included - no thanks. Those plots sounded terrible then, don't sound any better now, I don't need to see them.
Watched The Lost Boys over the weekend. Held up really well! Feel little sad the follow-up sequel never happened. Vertigo did a comic on said follow-up. It's ok.
There's been talk of a TV series. I'll believe it when sexy sax man, Tim Cappello gets cast.

Date: Aug. 24th, 2019 04:12 am (UTC)Oh man, The Lost Boys is one of my favorite movies of all time and it ages very well. Haha I was maybe 12 when it came out and scared of horror movies and monsters at that age, so I didn’t watch it until I was 19 or20. There are a couple of MTV sequels that look awful despite at least one of them featuring Corey Feldman. I heard or read there’s a proper sequel or reboot happening though at some point. Maybe it’s the series you mentioned. By the way, have you seen this video by an obvious Lost Boys fan featuring Tim Cappello?
