zimon66 | Stupid printers and lizard men

My current printer is showing it's age some (HP Deskjet 5440). So got a brand spankin new HP Envy and can't hook-up the danm thing. The problem is unlike my old printer, this new HP can only be installed via wireless (either thru an app on the phone or app on a laptop used in conjunction with a phone, maybe goat sacrifice or two). There is NO option to do it any other way.

HELLO???!!! Not everybody uses their phone for everything. Not everybody has a laptop. Not everybody wants their stuff up in a cloud I have a traditional set-up, with a tower, cable internet running to it. From said tower is a line to the router/wifi for Roku, Alexa, Smart TV and Kindle Fires. I had zero issues connecting them (they're all in other rooms) to the wifi. But for some reason the stupid printer was a no go from the get go despite being within close proximity of the router/wifi.

Even if I did manage to get it working and hooked up to the tower (Envy does have a usb port), still have to use the damn wireless app - there's no opting out at all. Why? Greed.

Ironically, have to use third party color ink cause it was discontinued for 5440. And HP has NO clue, cause they can't spy on me whenever they want.

I don't need to print much. Maybe 85% of the time the printer just sits unused (which is why having to buy new ink doesn't bother me). But when I do need to print, I NEED TO PRINT! So having a printer is kinda of a must.

In far happier news: Dorohedoro is getting a second season!!! Haven't been really interested in anime lately because been primarily "so&so winds up in some other place" and slapped with very long title. Or the usual guy and sexy girl(s) also may have very long title slapped on it.

Good when something confirmed interesting comes along. Really enjoyed Dorohedoro - go watch it!
