Has anyone else seen the trailer for this and are you reeling in horror like I am?

Marvin looks TERRIBLE (humgous beachball head on little midget body) and Zaphod only has one head and two arms???!!!

The acting doesn't seem to be all that great.

Worst of all this looks like yet another movie done solely for CGI effects.

Thank the Gods Douglas Adams isn't alive to see this.

Looks like that to me. How sad. Arthur's nowhere near clueless enough, Ford's nowhere near cool enough... Well it's only the trailer, but still. Zaphod had an extra hand in the trailer I saw but one head? WTF is up with that?

Sigh.

You realise the project was originally headed by Gilliam and co-written by DG himself? Then he died and things went wonky... Dammit.

One head, you say? Shiiiit.

Zaphod's 2nd head is under his 1st one.

I thought Marvin was kind of cute...

*shrug*

Yet, it probably will suck, but there is a cute trailer at the website that uses the "Hitchhikers' Guide" to define what a movie trailer is.

Well, cute and depressed made me snicker.

Yea, I know about that head thing. It's probably the only way they could pull it off w/o it looking like the TV series though...

The head in the TV series looked like crap though. (It wasn't a horrible TV series but the head was not done well.) I think they could have made it much better, and it wouldn't have looked like the series at all.

I wasn't too upset by Marvin, he looked kind of pathetic which is part of the point. He looked a little too babyish though, but I could have lived with Marvin.

I have a feeling they want viewers to be able to identify with Arthur so they wanted to make him less of a loser. But I've only seen the trailer so that's just a guess.

i am giving the movie a chance, but i have to say when i heard that ford is black, i got very worried. the look of marvin is not that great, but i do like that alan rickman is doing his voice.

check out this review. there's a short-spoiler-free version and a long version... http://planetmagrathea.com/shortreview.html

it has me a bit worried, although it turns out the two verticle heads for zaphod was actually douglas adam's idea, as well as lot of other things in the film. still...
