Earlier (about ninety minutes ago), I started watching Lake Mungo. Right when pictures of her recovered body are shown, the power went out in the area. S-P-O-O-K-Y.

Hollywood's doing a remake because it's a foreign movie and Australians can't speak English *sarcasm*.

I am so tired of Hollywood's need to do that.

But now I'm kind of curious about this movie.

(Though I'm worried that my appreciation of horror is usually best expressed by the most recent Hyperbole and a Half (http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/2010/08/expectations-vs-reality.html).

(Then again I survived Silent Hill.)

Anyway, yeah, that is spooky.

Plenty of Americans like subtitles fine. (There are people out there who just won't put up with them, for some reason, but that's no reason to remake a movie.) But yeah, I think Hollywood just likes to borrow other people's ideas so it can make a buck.

I'll have to keep my eye out for it.
