(New) ThunderCats - Ho No?

I got a soft spot for ThunderCats. Watched all the episodes in its first run, was ok with Snarf and LOVED the combination of berserkers and unicorns (they go together like peanut butter and chocolate.

When announcement of a new series came out, I was thrilled. Looking forward to see the old gang again - with a little tweaking to freshen up appearances.

The thrill took a nosedive today after seeing their updated look: Panthro, steroid to the gills; Lion-O, channeling FF Reno; poor Cheetara, she got dragged thru Dr. 90210 and then Rock of Love.

Tygra looks untouched. Lucky Tygra!!!


I'll still watch the show. Maybe it'll turn out ok?

OMGWTF??? What have they done to my beloved Thundercats?? Poor Cheetara looks as though she's had breast enlargements and too many face peels *cries*. Panthro wasn't a giant like that and Liono? Arrgh!

I know. It looks like a case of "stereotypical anime team": one team member is super big, another is super good looking, another is super manly/bad boy, another is super geeky. The ladies are super cute or sexy.

Seriously, I don't know. Snarf (supposedly) is in the show and doesn't talk. Haven't seen zip on Mum-ra, mutants, Wiley twins or other characters.

On my Facebook, I posted that the new pictures remind me of Cowboy Bebop a lot. In fact, Panthro looks like what would happen if you painted Jet blue.
