Once again I see yet another LJ Friend showing the warning signs of going so gaga over somebody that common sense takes a backseat and they are left wide open to emotional hell.

For anyone who knows somebody (online or real life friend) that maybe doing the samething, here are the basic warning signs -

1) Way too happy about everything, including things that would normally invoke feelings of negativity/neutrality.

2) Only becomes unhappy if they can't and or unable to make some sort of contact with other person.

3) Is constantly mentioning something about and or the name of the other person.

4) Doesn't listen to and or brushes off your concerns about how they are acting (Starry-eyed Pollyanna) in regards to the other person.

So, what do you do to help your friend out of this mindset? Well sadly, not a whole lot because you're not being listened to and or taken seriously - there just isn't a good way of reasoning with somebody while they are in that state.

It's not until they start coming out of it that you'll have any influence. Problem is there is no real telling of when that'll happen. All you can do is keep trying to make yourself heard and hope they don't get too badly hurt by the other person.

Edit:Should have mentioned that sometimes this sort of situation can have a strong effect on you. Right now, gut instinct is going into hyper-drive and my darkside is acting-up bigtime:(
