Nothing much going on around here. Still too warm and trees haven't been clued in it's autumn.

Got mauled (yes, MAULED) by mosquitoes last Wednesday. Usually, they stay the hell away from me cause don't taste good. This time around, I was outside running the trimmer over the backyard lawn about an hour before sunset and too tempting of a slow moving target to pass up for the very desperate.

Got nailed in seven spots - most on or around near back of neck. While that doesn't sound like much and it's not, the itching later was sheer HELL!!!

Witch hazel - didn't work. Not scratching - didn't work. Hydrocortisone ointment - itch relief my ass!!! Trying to ignore it - didn't work. Hand lotion - little bit of soothing. Trying to sleep it off - didn't work. Showering - nope. Peroxide - nada. Cursing - pointless.

Goggling for home remedies:
Toothpaste - only made the welts smelled minty fresh.
Aloe vera gel - kind of helped.
Benadryl - kind of worked.

Few days pass and hardly itching. Still got some big red marks that aren't easily hidden.

I'm taking great satisfaction in thinking my blood poisoned those little bitches.

Mosquitos LOVE me and will usually find me over anyone else. Luckily they're only itchy for a day or two and then it stops. When I was in Australia, I really had a problem with sandflies, where the itching persisted for a week or more. The only thing I found that helped was 1) ice - rub until it gets numb, or 2) taking a really hot shower to open your pores and then dab each bite with a drop of eucalyptus oil. That really seemed to kill the itch, at least temporarily.

Itching's the worst, more than pain sometimes.
