Temperature's dropped some. Not enough to clue in most of the trees and flowers around here. Kind of weird seeing a spot of fall color (courtesy of the few plants that checked the calender) amidst all the green.

Feels more like spring.

I forgot you live in Reno. How cold does it get there in the winter?

It snows here. The average high is maybe 40-45 degrees. Sometimes it'll dip lower around in the 30s. Really gets cold at night. There's been times I'm surprised no reports of homeless freezing to death. Got shelters, but some insist on sleeping outside ("I'm from so&so place and the winters there are way more harsh.").

Wow. I always assumed it was desert and there wouldn't be snow. I've obviously never been there. Yeah, it can be harsh here in southwest Michigan, but last year was alarmingly un-harsh, due to the freakishly warming climate. It hit upper 80s IN MARCH! (usually we still have snow on the ground).

High desert gets seasonal change. Heat's not intense like down in low desert Las Vegas.

Like most of the US, that warm winter hit here, too. Good thing there was last year's decent snowpack.
