Nov. 14th, 2012 03:10 pmCouple days ago, the parents came to visit. We were coming back from Sam's Club and saw a car with MYTHOS license plate. I jerk my hand out (palm up) at it and croaked "Yog-Sothoth".
They didn't get the esoteric Lovecraft reference.

Date: Nov. 16th, 2012 02:36 am (UTC)Between Lovecraft's constant use and the 1970 *The Dunwich Horror, "Yog-Sothoth" just feels right to say.
*One of the better adaptations. But two grown guys yelling "Yog-Sothoth" at each other is unintently funny.

Date: Nov. 18th, 2012 03:49 am (UTC)"Yog-Sothoth" pops up a lot in his works. Read enough Lovecraft and it becomes a drinking game after awhile. One of those names the characters will mention for whatever reason, usually when confronted with something out of the ordinary.
Sorry about the edit. Needed to make the Mythos contributions a little clearer.
