Another lazy day for putting off mowing the lawn, crashing out on the couch and watching TV (man, I'm sick of reruns - BRING ON THE NEW SEASON!!!)

Not too long ago, came out of nap to something very different with the atmoshpere. The breezy day of blue sky with some clouds had gotten a weird yet all too familiar cast to it. Heading towards the back sliding door, there's that smell and the air isn't quite right. Looking out the back door, sure enough, there's that ash haze turning the sun into a red ball and the light freaky. Somewhere a fire is burning - great.

Local news (they kept going on about how fast the haze rolled in) says it's coming from King Fire over in CA. I looked up the distance between Reno and there; little over 100 miles. Once again smoke from a far away fire is drifting all the over here. Last summer, Rim Fire (which was so bad got it's own Wikipedia entry), the smoke from that fucker (see this post) hung around in Reno for a MONTH!!! My car's air filter was completely yellowed. The shade was between "manila envelope" and "mustard" - yeah, that dark!

REALLY don't want revisit Beijing again.

Thinking of you and hoping the fire dies quickly.

I've never experienced anything like a fire like that and I hope I never do. The thought of it scares the hell out of me! I hope that it does soon!
