zimon66Got my car registered on Friday. The actual process took under 10 minutes. Waiting time, however, was 5 hours - seriously. Thank the gods there's an onsite cafe I could grab something to eat. Thank the gods again I discovered early on that no sound penetrates into the bathroom; would never have heard my number called when they finally got around to it later.
When I got home, sister called. Told her "FIVE FUCKING HOURS IN THE DMV!!!" She find this strangely hilarious.
I'm all "What the hell? Not that funny."
She responds with "IT'S THE FUCKING MAILMAN!!!"
Now it makes sense. My favorite John Waters movie is Pink Flamingos. My favorite line from PF is "IT'S THE FUCKING MAILMAN!!!" (I put a little more oomph into it than Cotton does). Totally unaware, I had attenuated the DMV rant exactly like the Mailman line.
At least I got a real license plate and a laugh out the miserable experience.

Is there a device on the wall that lets you know what number they are up to so you can tell how far back in the queue that you are? At least that would give you some idea of the wait times.
At times I have had to wait for service at Government Departments but never that long
