Yesterday, had an embarrassing mishap at work that (thankfully) wasn't witnessed by anyone. Sitting my canvas bag (inside: lunch, books, water bottle, and some other things) on the lobby counter, water bottle's latch got hit just right and popped open. Counter top got flooded and I left a trail behind while racing away to prevent further swamping and fix the leak.

Since there isn't any neat way of keeping that damn bottle upright in the bag, I wrapped it last night with a microfiber towel and then within two plastic bags. If it tips over and latch hit again, I'm protected!

Oh, ugh. I carry my water (and the occasional other beverage. Yes, I have gone to the movies with a screwdriver tucked in my purse) in repurposed plastic bottles, and I've had them fall over and leak through my bag more than once. Nothing is quite so humiliating as having a random cute guy walk up to you and say "Excuse me, miss...you're leaking."

I'll have to try the microfiber towel/plastic bag solution. Thanks!

Oops ... I once dropped a bag with a glass bottle which probably is worse!
