Dunno who this is originally from, but somebody commented it to one of many threads to one of many posts on Bowie over at the AV Club today:

"If you are very sad, just remember that the world is 4.5 billion years old and you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie"

EDIT: Out of curiosity, I flipped the channel over to MTV. When Kurt Corbin died, MTV dropped everything and pretty much did a round the clock tribute. David Bowie (whose iconic videos helped MTV immensely in becoming popular) dies, they can't be bothered to preempt the Teen Mom 2 rerun block.

If Kurt Loder was still there, no way in hell would he let this travesty occur.

VH1 (who slapped together a remembrance documentary - and preempted a re-run Celine Dion concert during the height of Titanic fever - for Rob Pilatus of Milli Vanilli because of being the first story covered on Behind the Music) dropped the ball too. Love & Hip Hop reruns are so much more important than honoring Bowie.

I get there's other news going on, being in shock, etc.,. But these are two, what were previously music channels, who got where they are thanks in part to Bowie.

There is a small music video block in the wee hours of the morning M-F. Who the hell is watching at those hours? My excuse is 1) have an early start for work, and 2) looked out of curiosity during the local news commercial break.

"Hey, maybe they're playing a Bowie video". NOPE!!! One Direction (who later today announced their breakup - mighty tacky doing this during the Bowie Mourning).
