Seriously, pass on those nasty things.

I've seen them around for years, but never had them until yesterday afternoon. Thought they would be like peanut M&Ms - NOPE! Rock hard, super sugary not in a good way, highly doubt there's an actual almond present, nastiness prettily packaged in pastel colors. Quit the bag about a third of the way in.

Gave me a stomach ache, too. Couldn't stop thinking about Kristen Wigg's character, Annie, choking one down in (at the 2:07 mark) Bridesmaids (Please ignore the terrible musical scores. Person who upload the clip added them in. Was a project for Music Class, and I hope they got a D for the piss poor job.).

Wiki entry for this shit candy is hilarious. In my (and Annie's) opinion, it's what you give to those you're not particularly fond of.

Off now to throw away the aforementioned bag.

I guess I'm weird, but I like them. I didn't realize they were so universally reviled (I did make favors of them for my wedding 20 years ago - I will admit Jordan almonds will probably last until the end of time, as I found some of those favors a while ago and they were exactly the same).

They are hard, but I think they're meant to suck on, and the sugar is kind of almond flavored. And yes, there is an almond in the center, but they're kind of soft so I wonder if they've been cooked or something. Oh well, not the first time I've liked something everyone else hates.
