There's gremlins running amuck in LJ and they won't let me comment on anybody's posts. There's also some funny business going on with my icons.

In other news: Five years after getting a router, I finally worked up the nerve to try and install the confusing thing. Thanks to piss poor instructions, pitching fits, guesswork, and some luck: SUCCESS!!! The very user friendly Roku practically installed itself. Now got streaming to the TV. Gorged myself on American Horror Story: Asylum and took advantage of Showtime's monthly stream offer to see the new third season episode of Penny Dreadful. This is the first time I'm seeing Penny Dreadful as it airs, on a big screen, and legally. First season, had to wait for Netflix disk. Second season, discovered couchtuner (Google for the link) and got to watch each episode a few hours after it aired on Showtime - BUT, on computer screen and kinda not 100% legal - HEY! There wasn't any another options for recent viewing available at the time. I do buy the dvds.

Swore up and down last year, if Showtime ever went the HBO Now route, I'd go legit. 10.99 for a month is a small price to pay for a full PD fix (previous seasons are available too).

So freakin worth it! Lyle is (as always) AMAZING! New addition Jekyll is sexy scary. Unseen Dracula's already WOW! Only Vanessa could make living in misery & squalor a poignant yet sumptuous feast for the eyes. Last, but not least, if a picture could say a thousand words (header from AVClub's recap&review -"The Day Tennyson Died" scored A-).

EDIT: Just realized Ad Block and HTTPS Everywhere weren't disable for LJ. So maybe not gremlins?

EDIT Part Deux: Not gremlins. Apologies to gremlins. Gotten late here, I'll comment on posts tomorrow.

The episode was just perfect. Framing it with the death of Tennyson was brilliant. I also was pleased with the vampires.

I don't think he is Dracula. He has a great love of embalming and stuffing animals, so I can see the Mummy or I should say some kind of incarnation of the Egyptian who became the Mummy.

The vampires are all tied to the Master Dracula, so I don't think it is too much trouble to keep them in check.

YAY for streaming!

Penny Dreadful gets better all the time. The entire tone of the season 3 opener was brilliant.

Loved the Tennyson tie in. Dr. Jekyll -- love him already. As soon as Renfield said his name, I was like, "YES!"

Eva Green is mesmerizing.

I have not watched PD but it is one on my list that I want to give a try. Just requested season one from the library.
