Been damn HOT here. 100+ temps until fairly recently. Couldn't sit for long in front of the computer, even with a fan going on me. That's why was laying low in LJ for awhile there.

HATE when it the heat gets that bad. Sweating buckets while doing nothing just feels so wrong. Forget trying for a good's night sleep - not gonna happen. Fanning yourself at 6:30 AM while getting ready for work - "love" that one. Drinking ice water like it's going out of style. Taking a shower and feeling refreshed for 10 minutes or less. Peeling clothes off, literally. Baking cookies on the car's dash - Ok, didn't do it, but was tempted.

Thank gods it cooled down and almost Friday. TCM is showing A Streetcar Named Desire and Baby Doll tomorrow evening for my Friday viewing pleasure. Also have Netflix dvd Hello, My Name is Doris, Another Period latest episode OnDemand, and a couple of new Servamp.

We had a heat wave here last month and it drove me up the wall. It was so bad that it was cooler to sit out in the garden than trying to deal with the additional heating my 'puter provided. Got a lot of reading done on the first Wheel of Time book though!

Have you tried putting ice in front of a fan? It's ghetto air conditioning even if all you have is bottles of frozen water.

Heard of the "fan ice" trick, but dunno how practical it'd really be what with the ice melting down so fast.

Got a cool vapor humidifier that works as a poor man's swamp cooler in the bedroom.

Fortunately, the temps went down this Saturday and are to stay that way for awhile. Which is a good thing cause the humidifier is due for a cleaning and dry-out.

I am not going to miss this summer at all. It cooled off here but it feels sticky so even if it is not hot, I still have to turn on the A/C. I hope we all get some nicer weather soon.

One thing I don't miss from living in Southern CA is the humidity - UGH! Thank the gods for dry heat Reno, NV.

Not so much angry as frustrated. When the sun goes down, it's suppose to cool off not stay hot.
