Aug. 15th, 2016 07:34 pmWhen the Halloween candy is put on display in early August, it's a sign the holidays have officially started. I'm not joking. Went to grocery store last Friday (August 12th), there in the seasonal aisle, one side full of discounted summer items and right across from it the other is full of Halloween candy.
Adding to the festivities, the weather turned HOT again. Also got another wildfire going on (more haze in the air). Target shooting at an abandoned range out somewhere set this one off. I dunno if it was a hot bullet casing or spark from bullet hitting metal; one or the other made contact with surrounding dry vegetation that hasn't seen a drop of rain for 80 days and WHOOSH!!! The shooters did the right thing by taking full responsibility and immediately contacted the authorities, but dryer than a tinderbox conditions had the upper-hand within minutes.
Did I mention wind is a regular thing around here?
Yep, beginning to look a lot like Xmas.
On a happier note: The almost two-week long heel blister I named "Jared Leto" (because was annoying, full of itself, and wouldn't go away any time soon) healed up. I can now walk, put on/take off socks and shoes, without making little screaming sounds under my breath.

Date: Aug. 16th, 2016 03:01 am (UTC)The fire situation in this state is terrible. There's two big wildfires north of my area and the weather hasn't helped a bit there. This drought should also be named "Jared Leto" or an even better name Kardashian.
Can't wait until Halloween. Maybe we'll get some much needed rain around that time.
