Due to Boing Boing, The Mary Sue, The Daily Dot, io9, and Charlie Stross (Wiki) spreading the news for their big followings to repeat - putting my DW to use and crossposting seems to be a pretty good idea right now with the rainbow hitting the fan.

Not quitting LJ obviously. Just playing it safe.

Being active in both almost at the same time is going to be weird though. Feels like I'm moving from one house to another across the way, but the transition process froze and now I'm playing tennis.

Why did the chicken stop in the middle of the road? Because he has DW and LJ with a scattered FL between them.

I think it's going to take me a fair amount of time to get used to the whole DW thing and crossposting. Clearly, I have more friends on LJ, but I'm running on faith that everything will work out for the best in the long run. Sigh.

It was pretty easy - what you're looking at is my very first crosspost. I didn't add This entry was originally posted at____ Please comment there using OpenID because didn't know until after the fact. But I like not having that DW identifying marker - hiding in plain site!

The downside, importing the comments from now probably results in double post showing up over there.

Yeah, I like the fact that you have the option of not having the DW identifying marker, too. It's just going to take me a while to figure out the best way to juggle the friends list in both places. TBH, only about 15 or so of my friends list have mentioned having a DW, which leaves a lot of people still over here that I'd still like to keep track of.

The new TOS didn't go over well. The opt out function didn't work for some of us non-Russians, had to agree before you could sign in, that really didn't help.

I always assumed that everything on the net was already read by the CIA/FBI etc. I think I'd be less worried about the Russians!

My list is scattering as well. I'm currently only reading LJ but I'm dual-posting/backing up to DW.

I'm looking thru DW first (got one or two people who quit here for there), then LJ. Most of my commenting for crossposts is "where the most comments are", which is LJ.

So far, this plan of action is working out ok.
