Watched the last and final episode of Blood Drive. In spite of SyFy's recent cancellation, I think BD's makers knew well beforehand there might be only one season due to the way things wrapped up. Not really surprised, show was way too weird for the average viewer. For the non-average, it is a sometimes annoying, frustrating mess. Grace and Arthur weren't the best leads. Supporting and side characters were so much more interesting (and why I kept watching) than those two overrated boring asses. The car needing blood to run got forgotten midway thru the series. Tantalizing Scar plot bits got dangled, but never followed thru.

Going to miss Karma, Aki, and Slink - most of all Slink. He should have gone out on a high sarcastic note, not the sad muttering about his hat.

Really, really, really miss Slink. There's no action figure to lavish my love on ;_;

Last week, over a very hot Labor Day weekend. Moved all 344 Fangoria issues up into an even hotter attic (yes, heat does rise) which took a few sweaty hours. I've been a long time reader since pretty much it's start back in 1979. So yeah, lot of work sorting into numeral order, getting big plastic bins up thru a narrow opening, bagging for carrying, up and down the damn ladder, trying to keep cats from "helping" (climbing up and playing in surrounding pink installation), numerous break to cool off some and re-hydrate, cursing during those breaks at the sight of still many bags to move. Thank the gods the job's done!

Last few years, I noticed problems with Fangoria. Wasn't keeping up with new movies/TV, too much going down memory lane articles, book reviews got cut short or didn't appear at all in some issues, covers didn't always look right - magazine seemed lost, trying to find its way. Got to the point I just wasn't really reading anything except the book reviews; everything else quick flip thru. I made the tough decision not to renew my subscription for 2016, hence why the attic move.

Turned out, that was the smart thing to do. #344 was the last printed issue ;_; Fangoria swore up and down the magazine's not dead - Yeah, right guys. October 2015 was the last date you did anything worth noting. Refund subscribers, focus on being a strong online presence.

But, noooo. Let Dread Central and Bloody Disgusting be the far better Top Horror sites. There's also a lot of other horror-related site competition to consider which you're clearly not.

Want to wear the crown again? Quit resting on your laurels and get busy, Fangoria!

Yeah, Fango was going downhill fast. I had a subscription forever, but let it lapse about five years ago. The last time I was VIP at Texas Frightmare, one of the perks was a new subscription to Fango for six months. I thought, "cool, maybe they've improved". NOPE. Not only that, I only got two mags out of the six. Sigh.

You maybe should've chosen another day for the work, eh?

I'm WAY behind on Blood Drive, but I had a feeling it was only going to get one season. Not for nothing, but I like looking at Barbie though. He's pretty easy on the eyes.

I'll take him and his bare naked ass for sure! Thanks for the head's up on that :D

I really dig Slink a lot, but I think his teeth put me off. I can't get past all the black :/ As far as characters go, though, he's the most engaging and entertaining of the bunch hands down!
