Not excited about "American Horror Story: Apocalypse"

Got the two previous seasons to thank for that. Roanoke had a few good bits, but the rest was such a slog to get thru. Didn't finish watching; quit around episode 8. Cult looked promising from the creepy clown trailers and Kai joyfully thrusting his hips into the TV when Trump won the election; yet another disappointment, I didn't make it past the second episode.

Maybe, just maybe, Apocalypse won't be a third suck in a row?

I have to admit, I loved Roanoke. It is the first one I've watched twice

I wish it focused more on:

1) The Hollywood part. Enjoyed the sleazeball antics of the producer. The Butcher actress too obsessed with her character (loved seeing her in full get-up chasing people down the street). What the other reenactors were doing in their personal lives and during the doc's filming.


2) Interaction between the real life people and their reenactors before all the shit hit the fan.


Would have liked changed:

1) The "backwoods inbred cannibals" had been a gross exaggeration to get TV ratings. That they were in fact backwoods but nice people.

2) Rory came back as a ghost to protect Audrey.

3) Lee never murdered her ex. The bad ghosts did him in. He in turn comes back to protect his daughter and ex.

I enjoyed the first episode. It was sufficiently bizarre for me and Joan Collins is a plus.

With the previous seasons, I watched right off the bat. Change of plans with Apocalypse, going to let a few episodes pile up and then watch. Meantime, reading the recaps. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long for the witches, I liked Coven.

I am wondering about the timeline and how the witches fit in. I don't like to let too much pile up so I will watch it each week. I loved Coven so hopefully they will turn up soon.
