zimon66I don't like post-Xmas. Left feeling like those blow-up holiday lawn ornaments when their motor shuts off - deflated pile in the grass. New Year's Eve is the worst; frequent depressing looks back and reminders of all the famous folk who passed (cue up the Jim Carroll song) right up to when that damn ball drops (which is why I make a point to avoid most the retrospect). Of course, nothing (yet) has topped 2016 as the WORST for celebrity deaths.
Then the l-o-n-g "meh" into the New Year until Valentine's Day when the St. Patrick's Day and Easter stuff shares shelf space with heart shaped candy boxes. A sure sign Spring is here! (about a month later).
On a happier note:
1) Weather's been nice. Mother Nature heard my pleas this year and has kept the most of the snow and bone chilling cold up at the ski resorts.
2) Been going down (again) the Battle of the Planets/Gatchaman rabbit hole. This is a very favorite of mine (Spectra Soldiers are my first anime crush - hey, cannon fodder needs love too), like revisiting it once ever so often. Got all the dvds earlier this month and blu-ray player because the first (and BEST!) Gatchaman 1-105 episodes (with Berg Kattse/Zoltar) are only available on blu-ray.
3) Poking around over on PillowFort aka where the majority of tumblr users will probably be in the near future. Year ago, craving fandom, put myself on their list to get a code. I'm a third wave beta tester, not that I did much in the way of any testing. Hard to be motivated when there isn't a whole lot going on for the longest time.
No, not leaving LJ. Just wanted a means to get regular fandom interaction that is one-stop and has an actual commenting system.
Before anybody asks, no, I don't have any codes to give. Only got the one for myself way back then. Keep an eye on their twitter and or sign up for a notice.

I love new years - the after christmas days - eh, and can definitely leave them ,but especially when it 's been such a shitty year... I am glad to leave it behind (even though now I go to bed early and don't bother staying up til midnight lol. this year I might try and set my alarm and get up to watch the sun rise)
