I already know the explanation, just needed a title for the post XD

On Thursday, a smoke detector decided to alert chirp its battery was running low. This wouldn't be much of an issue except 1) did this at 4AM, and 2) it's the one in my bedroom (supposedly, a law nowadays states bedrooms must have detectors). Nothing like getting woke up, wandering around in a daze for half an hour looking for paperwork (how to remove battery), getting stepladder, up/down said ladder, all to shut the muther up.

Planned the next day to get more 9volt batteries (wasn't sure the ones already had were still good) and cat food. Go to store after work, got cat food, Canada Dry's new flavored seltzer waters (these are GREAT), frozen pizza cause was hungry, and completely forgot the batteries. Good thing the on-hand battery did work.

The pizza was a brand (store's artisan) never tried before and never will again. HORRIBLE!!! Toppings were so-so, and the crust a completely devoid of flavor biscuit. Had to toss it out. I've NEVER thrown away pizza before. Feels so WRONG. On the bright-side, gives me an excuse to get pizza again soon :)

That's so typical these things go off in the middle of the night. Ours have a 10 year battery - we'll see if they really last that long. They've been in 3 years now.

A definite advantage of being six fooor four - these things are within easy reach. Which is a bonus, as the only rooms in this house without smoke alarms are the bathrooms. The one in the kitchen is particularly useful, as it lets you know when you

- fry anything
- toast anything
- grill things
- open the oven door while the oven is running

:-/

I find frozen pizza to be almost uniformly disappointing. Apart from the really basic marguerita. Those, you have to try to hurt.

There's nothing more annoying than a smoke detector chirping "low battery". OK, there are a few things but not many!

Throwing a pizza away does seem sacrilegious but if it was that bad...
