The weather temps are comfortable, leaves are still up, Halloween stuff makes me smile.

BUT, I can't fully enjoy it. Prelude to Holiday creep (last week the Xmas started hitting the shelves big time), stupid archaic no longer serves any useful purpose Daylight Saving, and Winter with its bone chilling cold and the damn ice&snow.

That third one I despise. 30s at night and 50s for day would be nice to have all thru Winter. Whatever comes down during the lower temps, melts off during the highs. But, NO! Lucky if the high is in the 40s. Last year was such a headache with the constant snow dumps. Too much came down, took forever to melt off, just when the streets were ok to safely drive on, another damn snow dump.

I say this every year, gonna say it again: The ski resorts are up in and around Tahoe, not down here, all the snow can stay up there!

Living in Southern CA, I use to look forward to the time change and Winter. Nice to have a break from the sun and heat. Never got below freezing or anywhere near it, rain only, and the colder weather was pleasant.

Climate change has been bad for a lot of places. But what if it could be good for a few? Unlike other parts of the US, haven't had extreme heatwaves, storms, etc., here in Northern NV.

I can always dream, right?

I don't like the cold either. Each winter I ask myself, why do I live here! But I'm trying to adopt a new attitude this winter.

Over winter mostly is wet and rainy and very windy. I want snow... :D But the darkness gets to me, too.

I agree wholeheartedly with pretty much every sentiment. Having lived in southwest Michigan, land of the dreaded lake-effect snow as well as frigid winter temps, I've grown to dislike winter more and more myself. It was great as a young child when it just meant snow days, playing in the snow, and Christmas presents.

I've heard this winter where I live, Pennsylvania is going to be brutal, yaaay. My only comfort is that I no longer work so I don't have to worry about driving there.
