As anybody who bothers to read my LJ knows, I like Hellsing doujinshis and buy them off of eBay.

Currently, I got 6 bids going. I check the Hellsing doujinshi section almost daily, only bid on ones I find interesting/appealing and then purposely place a high bid in order to get them.

Am willing to pay a high price (and have sometimes) because it is something I REALLY want - screw doing a couple bucks over the asking price, I'll go $20-40-50 depending on what it is. Also am usually the first bidder, rarely will bid on one already bidded on by somebody else - it's a sense of fairplay. The only time I've done otherwise was because it was a yaoi I REALLY wanted.

One doujinshi the asking price was $9.95, I plunked down $55 because again I REALLY want it.

Up until today, was the sole bidder. I check in as usual and there is a total of 6 bids and the asking price had jumped to $20something.

First bidders get the advantage over all other bidders so long as that first bid is beyond what other bidders are plunking down.

Anyway back to my story, this was of course odd, and had the feeling it was one person doing multiple little bids.

It was and you'd think after a couple of tries the guy would realize "Hey, maybe I shouldn't be doing 1-2 dollar amounts but one big sum." or "Maybe I should give-up, that person is a deadset on getting this particular doujinshi."

Well after shaking my head at it all, check my email and there's this message from that guy - do you really want this Doujinshi so bad? i could stop biddin if you like. just let me know.

Talk about not getting a subtle hint when applied with a sledgehammer!!! He's already tried FIVE TIMES and failed, why is this so bloody hard to understand???!!!

Probably won't reply back to the guy, because WHAT'S THE POINT???!!!
