My computer went MAJOR SCREWY!!!

Had something to do with ancient application files sitting in Temp File, getting rid of them and long story short Start-up not happening.

Had to Use QuickRestore disk resulting in 5 years worth of stuff gone and the computer turned into a virgin (LOL!!!).

Aside from a few pictures and PaintShopPro3, I'm not missing the stuff that's gone. Did need to get things ready for the new computer (getting in a couple of months) so am looking at what happened as a positive.

Long hours at work and spending what free time I had having to redownload and or find various needed items (which took a LONG while), it is so damn WONDERFUL right now to be on the computer just for pleasure - LOL!!!

Sorry to hear of your PC problems. Sometimes it is funny that much of the stuff we have one our PC, we don't even miss when it is gone. Your pc will probably work much better w/o it. I spent a lot of time getting rid of things.

True, still would have prefered not to have to gone all the way back to November 1999 - it was kinda of embarassing having the primative version of McAfee (with no firewall) up and running again - LOL!!!

My Dad got a new Dell via work (Boeing was offering a deal on Dell) and maybe able to get me one too.

If not, probably go to BestBuy and get Compaq again.

Buying a computer isn't a problem for me, it's the weight and size - boxed-up compters are anything but easy to carry. That's why am waiting until the parents come up for a visit, Dad has no problem with the boxes.

Dell is the best computer on the market now......

I agree with Chris, Dell is by far the best.

I've had to wipe the drive of my old computer about once every year due to viruses.

PS--always nice to see you in LJ land:)
